The horse industry has an economic impact of $102 billion on the U.S. economy and supports 1.4 million full-time jobs. It is an important economic force in many states. In Georgia, the equine industry is a growing segment of our state's economy with an estimated value of $300 million. There are more than 230,000 horses in Georgia today. Just the breeding of horses (the direct and indirect spending) generates more than $750 million dollars for Georgia’s economy yearly.
